Classified Employee Layoff Now Requires 60 Day Notice

Assembly Bill 1908, signed by the Governor on September 30, 2012, amends Education Code sections 45117 and 88017.

Effective January 1, 2013, California public schools and community college districts will be required to provide classified employees with written notice of layoff not less than sixty (60) days (previously 45 days) prior to the effective date of the layoff.
